Tour
FAN Tour is an animation initiative that showcases curated film programs by European directors to audiences around the world. Organized by FAN, the tour aims to promote European animation, enhance its international visibility, and broaden its global audience. By sharing a diverse range of animated works, FAN Tour fosters cross-cultural dialogue and connection through the universal language of cinema.
FAN Tour backbone consists of two main programs: FAN Masters, showcasing prestigious European authors, and FAN Young European Talents, spotlighting the next generation of animators. Each year features a selection with unique curatorial theme: “Memory” for 2025 and “Freedom” for 2026.
To support film literacy, each program’s selection will be accompanied by Technical Sheets containing technical film data and stills.
Screenings of the selected animated films will be held in both conventional venues and outdoor or unconventional spaces, helping to diversify access and enrich the viewing experience.
FAN Masters is a core initiative of FAN that celebrates the richness and diversity of European auteur animation. The program presents curated selections of animated films by acclaimed directors from each partner country, bringing their work to audiences across Europe and around the world through collaborations with associated festivals.
Each edition of FAN Masters revolves around a central curatorial theme, offering a cohesive and thought-provoking cinematic experience. In 2025, the focus will be on “Memory”, inviting audiences into deeply personal, expressive, and universal stories. In 2026, the theme will be “Freedom.”
By connecting festivals, artists, and viewers, FAN Masters expands the reach of European animated cinema, promotes cultural exchange, and celebrates the creative voices that shape the continent’s animation landscape.
FAN. Young European Talents is a programme dedicated to screening short animated films by emerging European talents aged 18 to 30, or by newcomers taking their first steps in the field of animation. The selection features a diverse range of voices and storytelling styles, with one programme representing each partner country involved in the initiative.
Following the launch of this program, FAN. Young European Talents Award was created to further highlight and support emerging voices in European animation. As part of this initiative, one award will be presented in 2025 and another in 2026, recognizing outstanding work by young or up-and-coming filmmakers.
To further encourage and recognize young talent, a FAN. Young European Talents Award will be presented to one outstanding filmmaker in both 2025 and 2026.
