FAN Joins Lisbon Talks #3 at IndieLisboa 2026 to Discuss the Strategic Role of Festival Networks

On 5 May, as part of the industry programme for IndieLisboa 2026, FAN took part in a round-table discussion entitled Lisbon Talks #3, dedicated to the importance of festival networks, held at Culturgest in partnership with Media Desk Portugal.

The session brought together professionals from various European festivals, including Elise Jalladeau from the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, Anne Gaschütz from Filmfest Dresden, Henrique Praça from CINANIMA, and Carlos Ramos from IndieLisboa.

The debate focused on the challenges festivals currently face, but also on the added value of international cooperation networks, both in strengthening the festivals’ own activities and in the development of the industry and audience building. Issues such as adapting to the sector’s new demands, the sustainability of cultural practices, and the ongoing transformations in the relationship between creation, distribution and audience were also addressed.

This round table highlighted the strategic importance of festival networks as fundamental structures for cooperation, knowledge sharing and the strengthening of the European audiovisual sector.
