FAN Frame engages young audiences across Europe

The FAN Frame project, coordinated by FAN’s Partner Festivals, is bringing creative animation education to young audiences in multiple countries. Through hands-on workshops led by professional animators, students are exploring storytelling and visual expression, while experimenting with the art of animation in inspiring and playful ways.

FAN Frame is designed for students aged 6 to 17, with activities tailored to different age groups: short film production for younger children (6–9 years old), very short smartphone-based animations for middle school students (9–14), and augmented reality animation projects for older participants (14–17), projecting digital creations onto real-world surfaces such as buildings, posters, and books. In parallel, the project will also host two Animation Trainers Meetings (2025 and 2026), offering educators and professionals a space to exchange knowledge and methods.

Much like the FAN Tour, the FAN Frame workshops will take place throughout 2025 and 2026. All the outcomes will be collected and made available on FAN.HUB, creating a growing online showcase of young voices in European animation.

With its emphasis on participation and creativity, FAN Frame aims to foster appreciation for European animated cinema, encourage technical and storytelling skills, and broaden learning environments that connect young people with the expressive possibilities of animation.
